Woven mesh
Woven to the wire.
Precision woven wire cloth in every weave, aperture and alloy — the core material behind reliable sieving, filtration and support layers.
Woven wire mesh is where Averinox started and what still anchors the programme: metal wires interlaced into precise, repeatable geometry. Plain weave for open, free-flowing screens. Twill for heavier wires. Dutch weaves where sub-100-micron retention has to combine with mechanical strength.
Because the weave determines flow, retention and stiffness, our engineers select cloth by process — slurry, gas, polymer or powder — rather than by catalogue page. Cloth is supplied from stock or woven to specification, including licensor specifications for reactor and refinery service.
Crimped woven mesh (flat top, double crimped, corrugated) adds a rigid, dimensionally stable surface for vibrating screens, grids, trays and architectural panels. From AISI 304 to Hastelloy™, the same weave can survive a very different environment — material advice is part of the job.
Applications
- Sieving and classifying powders and granulates
- Liquid and gas filtration, from coarse strainers to fine Dutch weaves
- Support and protection layers for finer media and membranes
- Vibrating screens and quarry/mining decks (crimped mesh)
- Catalyst handling and refinery service to licensor specification
- Architectural and decorative surfaces (IndustryMeetsDesign®)

Materials & variants
Stainless steel 304/304L and 316/316L are the workhorses; 316Ti and 321 cover the sensitisation temperature range. For brine, chlorides, acids or extreme heat we weave and fabricate Inconel™, Incoloy™, Monel™, Hastelloy™ and Duplex™. Non-ferrous wires (brass, copper, aluminium) are available for shielding and architectural work.
Frequently asked questions
Which weave do I need for a given micron rating?
As a rule of thumb: square plain weave down to ~25 µm, plain Dutch for strong cloth with fine retention, twill Dutch for the finest ratings. Send us the medium, load and cleaning method and we advise the exact weave and alloy.
Can you supply cut-to-size parts instead of rolls?
Yes. Discs, rings, rectangles and formed parts are cut, edged and, where needed, welded or framed in-house — usually faster than buying a roll and outsourcing the work.
Do you weave to licensor specifications?
Yes. Cloth for reactor internals and refinery equipment is regularly supplied against licensor specs, with material certificates and full traceability under our ISO 9001 system.
